Song-up (Seong-eup) Folk Village

More similar to the Hahoe Folk Village in Andong than the one outside of Seoul - it feels more like an actual village than a history lesson or tourist attraction. Song-up was formerly Cheju-do's capital, having been founded back in the 1200s. The majority of the houses are of the thatched roof, stone courtyard variety located alongside winding alleyways. Get away from any tour groups that may be present and step back into Cheju's past.

Hours

It's a village - wander around whenever you want. Keep in mind though that these are the homes of real people and they might not appreciate a 1 a.m. wake-up call.

Admission

Free
Transportation
Bus: about one hour from Cheju City's inter-city terminal. Buses depart every half-hour from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Address and Phone Number
It seems to be a real traditional village - I couldn't find a phone number!
